School of Information Technology, IIT kharagpur

As of November, 2015, School of Information Technology has been merged with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

The School of Information Technology has been started with the objective of promoting research and development, industrial consultancy, and teaching in the frontier areas of Information Technology. The School currently offers MTech, M.S. and Ph.D. programmes. The School also conducted PGDIT (Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology) programme in the distance mode at Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, and Kharagpur to facilitate cross migration to the field of IT.
